Description
Located amidst the historic cobblestone streets and buildings of downtown, 1834 Burger suits the suits when the market closes. But this bar is no old-boys club, just a simple place with red-checkered picnic cloths, 20 (yes, 20!) flat screen TVs, and a small bar with a nice selection of Belgian beers. Of course you're here for the beef, so here's a no brainer: order the burger at the top of the menu. The "BBQ Pot Belly" will give you just that, it's an enormous bacon-stuffed burger, blended with a smooth bourbon barbecue sauce. Appetizers like fried brussels sprouts and the gruyere-based mac and cheese are also definite winners. And if you're feeling like John Candy, dare to conquer the "Road Kill", a massive 10-pounder (and 75-dollar-er) delivered on a pizza platter. While that sounds like way too much, note that the Chef was a winner of a Food Network program, and everything else on the menu is refined and sophistiated...for a burger joint.
