Novita Bistro is a casual, BYOB with Mediterranean influenced dishes located at 1608 South Street in the Graduate Hospital section of Center City Philadelphia.

Novita is brand new to this area and was established in 2008 by Moroccan born Hassan Zanzoul and Hatim Saaboul. This space has recently been transformed into a lovely, quaint BYOB seating up to 40 people and featuring an open kitchen.

In addition to being raised on hearty Moroccan dishes, Chef Hassan Zanzoul developed a love of Mediterranean food while he worked as a chef in Taormina, Italy from 1987 until 1996. Upon his return to the states, Hassan received formal training in both Italian and French cuisine from the French Culinary Institute in New York City. While working toward his certification, Hassan was selected to go to Paris to complete an internship that would further his culinary expertise. Before moving to Philadelphia, Hassan worked as the Executive Chef at the Silver Spoon Cafe in Branchburg, New Jersey.

Novita’s menu includes simple and traditional dishes that combine ingredients from fresh, local vendors with rich herbs and spices.
