Great Food - Excellent

Patricia Darneille from N/A - 01/21/2012 20:44:49

My friends and I have now eaten there about 10 times over the past 6 weeks - it's our favorite restaurant. The chicken piccata is outstanding - tilapia with risotto is unbelievable - definitely a keeper. Each dish has a mouthwatering sauce and is served with an array of fresh vegetables. And, try one of the pizzas - you won't be disappointed. The staff is always friendly and attentive and they make a point of greeting guests and making sure they are well taken care of. The thin garlic bread is a treat. Definitely worth a trip - you will go back many times! These Jersey Boys know how to cook.

The place is under new management with a new menu. I hope they go out of business soon. The was possibly the worst dining experinece we've had in years.

I ordered chicken marsala and my husband ordered a pizza. His pizza came out in 10 minutes, and the waiter (also the chef) said "we" should start on the pizza and the other dish would be out later. My husband pointed out that only one of us wanted pizza. I asked when my dish would be coming, and the chef said at least 10 more minutes. Well, about half an hour later it arrived, with no apology at all from the chef. We were going to a movie and asked for the check, which was not brought. I got up and asked a member of the staff for it, and when it finally came we paid and left. Well, as we're walking out the chef comes running after us and starts yelling at us. Finally, we realized he thought we hadn't paid. My husband explained that we had left the money on the table and I said he should be apologizing to us. He yelled an insult at us.

The food, by the way, is extremely medicore. My chicken marsala had no vegetable or salad with it (which was not explained when we ordered), just a big, soup-like bowl with a bit of chicken and lots of sauce.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere-Never disap

Taivan Badrakh from Arlington, VA - 07/27/2011 15:26:36

The meal started with a basket of VERY tasty thin garlic bread (blow your diet and enjoy!). Not wanting to load up on carbs, we had one dish that the cook whipped up specially for us--a delightful combination of huge jumbo shrimp and vegetables delightfully seasoned and perfectly cooked, still crunchy and flavorful. The other dish we ordered was angel hair pasta with puttanesca sauce, which also was fabulous! The sauce was anything but dull--very tangy and savory, not sweet, with robust flavors of tomato, capers, anchovy, and lots of olives. The sauce could not have been better, and the pasta was cooked just right--al dente.

Throughout the meal, the waitstaff was quick to refill our water glasses but was unobtrusive--as it should be. The people behind us ordered linguini with shrimp and alfredo sauce--and it looked and smelled heavenly (and we overheard their remarks about how delicious their food was).

Terrible

Saturday night, 16 July, getting dinner before a movie. Sat outside, beautiful evening. Water and bread brought to table quickly, good sign. Waiter walks by, says he'll be right with us. Water is refilled, almost too efficiently. Time passes. More water. More water. More water. No waiter. 15 minutes of seeing no waiter, 2 dollars on the table (bread), we left. Will not go back. They were not busy, now we know why.

We were the only ones in the restaurant on a Sunday night. The bread was white bread and it was stale. We told the manager and he did nothing, didn't even apologize. The food was pretty awful. The vegan picata and masalas were tasteless and had too much oil. No vegetables to be found in those dishes, just a slab of fake "meat" and pasta on a plate. Awful. The decor is very unappetizing, and definitely not clean. We won't be going back. Sorry we lost our money there.
